Adolescence, Youth, Gender
& Sexuality Bibliographies

There is an obvious intersection between studies on Guiding/Scouting and those of adolescents, youth (and youth movements), gender, and sexuality. Below is a selected bibliography of works dealing with these areas that have an impact and relevance to the history of Scouting and Guiding. Two longer bibliographies have been prepared on: Adolescence and Youth; and Gender & Sexuality, as PDF documents. Additional bibliographies on these subjects can be found on-line at: The Men’s Bibliography and Boyhood Studies. If you have additional references you’d like to recommend be added to the bibliographies, please contact us.

If you download, or use a Bibliography in your research, please take a moment to let us know via e-mail. This lets us know that the site is being utilized for research. If there is no interest in the Bibliographies, then there is no need for this web site to exist.
